Storm chances continue this morning and afternoon
TUESDAY: A few morning storms are possible along and north of I-70 but will be very spotty as they move north just outside our area. More widespread, but light rain looks likely south of I-70 for the morning commute. We will see a brief lull in any activity from 10 AM until noon. A cold front will push to our south during the afternoon and it’s possible that a few storms could develop along this boundary north of I-70 as they push to the south, but would be short-lived. Winds will shift to the north in the afternoon up to 10 mph and it will be cooler, with high temperatures near 80 north of I-70 and low to mid 80s south.
TONIGHT: Afternoon storms will push to the southeast this evening giving us a drying trend through the overnight hours. Behind the cold front winds will be shifted out of the northeast form 5-8 mph with temperatures dropping into the mid 60s by morning. It will be dry, but mostly cloudy skies remian.
EXTENDED: We’ll be drier Wednesday and early Thursday with only isolated storm chances, mainly in the Ozarks. High temperatures will reach the low to mid 80s but will climb to the upper 80s Friday as warmer air returns with a warm front lifting back to the north. This will increase storm chances from Friday night through the weekend as the boundary sets up over Mid-Missouri, moving to our north then back to the south again. Temperatures will climb to near 90 Saturday, dropping to the lower 80s Sunday as storm chances continue. Watch ABC 17 News for the newest forecast and check back here for updates.
