Storms cause damage in Mid-Missouri
UPDATE: A Columbia family is cleaning up Monday night after storms damaged their roof. It happened late Monday afternoon at a home in the 4200 block of Clark Lane. ABC 17 News spoke to the family who said a gust of wind peeled of part of the roof. No injuries were reported.
ORIGINAL: Storms caused damage in parts of Mid-Missouri as storms rolled through the area Monday afternoon.
A tree limb fell onto vehicles at a home on Worley Street in Columbia around 4 p.m.
The Moberly Police Department also said it’s received reports of water over the roads on Rollins Street at the railroad underpass, in the area of South Morley near Bratcher’s Market and on US 24 at the railroad underpass.
The department asked drivers to avoid the areas and encouraged drivers to avoid driving through water over the road. Officers also encouraged drivers to let the police department know of any other roads covered in water.
MoDOT also confirmed it is responding to downed trees near Fayette. Brad Pefferman said crews responded to three trees on Highway 124 and a tree on Route A.
There are also reports of power lines and a tree down in Boonville.
