Latest on Monday evening’s severe storm risk

The month of May continues to bring the summer-like heat across Mid-Missouri as monthly temperatures continue to run 10°+ above average.

We’re all aware that anytime we get lengthy warm & humid spells that when they come to an end, there’s usually storms, sometimes severe, that are sparked off due to the shuffling of air masses.

As we begin to push out the ridge that’s been holding over the southeast, the stationary boundary that’s been stuck up to our north will get a chance to relax southward. This collision of this boundary with the warm air will be what causes our storm chance for Monday evening.

The latest data continues to suggest that a high wind event looks to be the biggest threat. Here’s a breakdown of what we think you should look out for
