Record-breaking heat for your Mother’s Day
TONIGHT: Gusty winds will die down this evening and temperatures will drop down to the upper 60s and low 70s across our area.
MOTHER’S DAY: After a mild morning, temperatures will rocket into the 80s by lunch time and into the 90s by the afternoon hours. We’ll also see fairly humid conditions as well with dew points in the upper 60s and low 70s. We’ll see a mix of clouds and sun for a majority of the day as well. There’s also a good chance that we will be breaking record highs tomorrow. The last record for May 13th was set back in 1940 at 91 degrees.
EXTENDED: We begin to see the ridge of high pressure across the southeast slowly begin to breakdown this week. Our chances for rain will increase as a stagnant low over the west coast continues to send bubbles of weak energy across the Midwest. Our best chance of seeing widespread rain arrives by mid-week. We’ll also be tracking the potential for any storms to become evere as well. Watch ABC 17 News for the newest forecast and check back here for updates.
