Consecutive 90 degree days ahead

FRIDAY: Some morning clouds increase through mid-Missouri after 9 AM through noon. As showers exit clouds will slowly begin to clear with an afternoon warm up. It looks like the warmest day so far this spring as highs top out in the upper 80s near 90 which is 17 degrees above average. It will be windy, with sustained southwesterly winds at 12-18 mph in the afternoon, gusting as high as 30 mph at times. Outdoor burning should be avoided.

TONIGHT: Temperatures will only drop towards 70 tonight as winds remain breezy out of the south under mostly cloudy skies.

EXTENDED: The warm weather pattern continues into the weekend, bringing daytime highs into the 90s with nights in the upper 60s. We remain dry into the weekend, as a shallow upper level ridge keeps any afternoon storms to the north of HWY 36 in northern Missouri. Saturday afternoon looks partly cloudy and very warm as we reach the upper 80s to near 90 and southerly winds up to 12 mph. Mother’s Day will be a dry and toasty one, with temperatures remaining in the low 90s under partly cloudy skies. Next week still looks warm with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s and a better chance of storms tracking into the region as a boundary finally makes its way further south into our area.
