Feeling like summer through the weekend
TONIGHT: Temperatures will only drop into the mid 60s by morning which is 13 degrees above average for this time of year. We’ll have mostly clear skies and winds from the south at 6-10 mph.
FRIDAY: Some morning clouds leftover from dying storms in west-northwest Missouri will pass through but thin out to partly cloudy skies. It looks like the warmest day so far this spring as highs top out near 90 which is 17 degrees above average. It will be windy, with sustained southwesterly winds at 12-18 mph in the afternoon, gusting as high as 30 mph at times. Outdoor burning should be avoided.
EXTENDED: The warm weather pattern continues into the weekend, bringing daytime highs up to near 90 with nights in the upper 60s. We remain dry into the weekend, as a shallow upper level ridge keeps any afternoon storms to the north of HWY 36 in northern Missouri. Saturday afternoon looks partly cloudy and very warm as we reach the upper 80s to near 90 and southerly winds up to 12 mph. Mother’s Day will be a dry and toasty one, with temperatures remaining in the upper 80s under partly cloudy skies. Next week still looks warm with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s and a better chance of storms tracking into the region.
