Man arrested for home burglary on Spruce Drive

Officers were called to the 2400 block of Spruce Drive on Tuesday for a burglary.

The investigation revealed a victim had returned to a home in the area and saw a vehicle in his driveway. The vehicle in the driveway belonged to James Bresee.

The victim saw an open door to the home and some of his property on the ground.

Minutes before officers were dispatched to the scene for the burglary, Bresee contacted a resident on Oakfield and asked to borrow a phone to report his vehicle stolen, according to the official press release.

A K-9 track was conducted from the home on Spruce Drive that led to the area of the garage, where Bresee had contacted the citizen to use the phone.

Bresee was arrested in the 2400 block of Spruce Drive for second-degree burglary and felony stealing.
