DUBLIN, Ohio (AP) — Cameron Smith doesn’t have a great history at the Memorial. In his six previous appearances, he never shot better than 71 and missed the cut four times. But this Cameron Smith is the No. 3 player in the world, a two-time winner this year that includes The Players Championship. He had a 69 on Friday to go with his opening 67. That gives him a one-shot lead over Denny McCarthy and K.H. Lee going into the weekend. Smith isn’t surprised. He says he’s playing the best golf of his life and expects to be in the lead, no matter where.
