Missouri lawmakers say it was good budget year ‘all in all’

Budget Chair Senator Dan Brown and Republican Scott Fitzpatrick say they think it was a good budget year for them all in all.

ABC 17 met with both lawmakers, who said issues surrounding the governor is not a distraction.

Sen. Brown said regardless of all the talk surrounding the governor, prisons have to be operated and schools and colleges have to continue to as well. He also said although the governor’s issues do raise concerns, it’s not going to deter them off course, nor does he think the Capitol is in crisis.

Sen. Brown said members are very happy and that he and Rep. Fitzpatrick put a lot of time into the budget and are pleased with the turnout.
