Fayette man accused of threatening to blow up Columbia business
A Fayette man is facing charges after allegedly threatening to blow up a business in the 300 block of Nebraska Avenue Saturday.
Columbia police officers were called to Battery Outfitters just after 5 p.m. for reports of a bomb threat.
Police said Clinton Ewings went into the business and told employees he planned to blow up the building with everyone inside. The victims told police Ewings said he planned to blow up another business as well.
Officers arrested Ewings around 5:45 p.m. at Business Loop 70 East and North Providence Road on suspicion of second-degree making a terrorist threat.
He’s currently being held on a $1,500 bond, according to online jail records.
