BREAKING: Two people arrested after chase from St. Louis ends in Boone County

UPDATE (7:45 a.m.): Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed the names of the two people who were taken into custody after a multi-county pursuit ended in Boone County Monday morning.

Troopers said Sandor Spies, 30, of St. Louis and Michael Berner, 37, of St. Louis, were the men they took into custody.

Online arrest records showed Spies, the driver, was arrested on charges of speeding, failing to signal, driving while suspended, careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash, resisting arrest and for a felony arrest warrant out of Johnson County, Kansas.

Records showed Berner was arrested for a felony arrest warrant out of St. Louis for dangerous drugs.

UPDATE (5:20 a.m.): ABC 17 News is working to confirm one of the names of the two people taken into custody following Monday morning’s chase.

A highway patrol arrest report shows troopers arrested Michael Berner, 37, just after 2:00 a.m. in Boone County. Berner was arrested on suspicion of a felony FTA warrant out of St. Louis, which matches charges from the chase.

ABC 17 News has contacted a spokesperson for the highway patrol to confirm if the arrest is related to the chase.

Original story: The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed two people were arrested Monday morning after a chase that started in St. Louis ended in Boone County.

Troopers said it started on Foristell near St. Louis on Sunday Night. The vehicle was chased on I-70 until it crashed in Boone County near the Midway exit. Spike strips were used on the vehicle twice, although troopers could not confirm which departments used them.

Two people inside the car were arrested on felony warrants after the crash. Neither were injured.
