Stover man found deceased inside of home after reports of an assault on woman inside
On May 6, 2018, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 9-1-1 call of a man asking for an immediate response to an ongoing assault on his wife.
The man was not in the same location as his wife during the assault and told authorities to go to 14968 Hwy N, Stover, Missouri.
When authorities got to the scene, they could hear a distraught female inside of the home.
The Sheriff’s deputies forced entry into the home and found an unresponsive man on the floor and a woman in a hysterical state in another room.
The unresponsive man, identified as Thomas Chandler Sr., age 79 of Stover, was pronounced dead after life-saving procedures from Sheriff’s Deputies and EMS personnel were ineffective.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment and later released.
This investigation is ongoing at this time.
An autopsy for Chandler Sr. is scheduled for May 8, 2018.
