Severe storms possible tonight and Thursday

TONIGHT: A line of storms will move through overnight and will continue to bring a severe threat. Damaging winds are the primary threat along with large hail and an isolated tornado. A Severe Storm Watch continues until 6 AM.

THURSDAY: Lingering showers and t-storms will continue Thursday morning through 11 AM and a few of these still could be on the strong to severe side for the AM commute. We’ll watch for strong wind gusts with these and possibly some large hail. Heading into the afternoon, if clouds clear, storms could re-develop and become severe. This depends on how much sunshine we see during the afternoon which looks more likely west of HWY 63. The severe threat continues through Thursday evening for possible damaging wind, large hail and an isolated tornado as the cold front moves through. Temperatures will reach near 80 Thursday afternoon with southerly winds at 15 mph gusting to 28 mph at times.

EXTENDED: Storms move out by early Friday morning, leaving us with a dry day and highs in the upper 70s. As we head into the weekend, we look warm and dry for Saturday with temperatures reaching near 80. A backdoor cold front brings a chance of showers and t-storms Sunday afternoon with high temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80.
