Mild and windy night, with cooler Wednesday expected

TONIGHT: Tonight we will see increasing clouds with breezy winds out of the east up to 20 mph as a cold front begins to move into mid-Missouri. Temperatures tonight will finally stay above freezing as overnight lows only drop into the upper 40s.

WEDNESDAY: It will be a mild and windy start to your Wednesday, as a surface low continues to track through the region. This will lead to isolated showers possible north of Hwy 24, with dry weather expected elsewhere. All of Mid-Missouri will see windy conditions, as winds will shift out of the west up to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 35. This will lead to falling temperatures through the day, with a morning high in the upper 50s expected and falling into the upper 40s and lower 50s into the afternoon. Due to the windy and dry conditions expected, fire danger is likely, so outdoor burning is extremely discouraged.

EXTENDED: We’ll hover around the upper 50s to low 60s for the rest of the week with dry conditions. As a storm system passes to our south this weekend, rain is possible mainly in our southwestern counties late Saturday, spreading north to I-70 Saturday night into Sunday. Temperatures will be slightly below average this weekend with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s and nights in the lower 40s. Next week is likely to bring warmer weather, as highs climb into the upper 60s and lower 70s under partly cloudy skies. Stay tuned to ABC 17 for the latest forecast and updates.
