Mexico officers looking for man accused of intentionally setting fires

Mexico Department of Public Safety officers are looking for a man accused of intentionally setting fires.

Police said on Saturday night they were called to the area of N. Washington and Schopp for reports of fires in the backyards of two neighboring homes.

Officers said the fire was quickly put out and there was no damage to any buildings or personal property. It was also determined that the fires were intentionally set.

One resident reported seeing a man run through his yard just before noticing the fire.

The suspect is described as being around 5′ 8″ tall with a slim build and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. He was last seen running south in the 1500 block of N. Clark Street.

Officers ask anyone with information about the incident to contact CrimeStoppers at (800) 392-TIPS or Mexico Public Safety at (573) 473-5800.
