Woman suffers life-threatening injuries after motorcycle crash

A woman is suffering life-threatening injuries after a Saturday night crash.

According to Columbia police, the crash happened when a motorcycle was traveling northbound on Paris Road and ran a red light.

The motorcycle hit a car and ejected both people on the motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver, Aaron Monroe, was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. Officers believe that alcohol or drug use was a factor in the crash.

The motorcycle passenger, Michele Groves, was taken to the hospital with serious/ life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle driver did not suffer any injuries.

Police said they are still investigating the crash.
