Mid-Missouri Business Week: Apprenticeships

Last month, Gov. Eric Greitens announced an investment of $3.6 million to expand and develop new registered apprenticeship programs across Missouri.

The state currently has nearly 13,000 active apprentices in 400 registered apprenticeship programs undergoing on-the-job training under the supervision of a trade professional.

Mardy Leathers, director of the Division of Workforce Development Mardy Leathers sat down to talk with ABC 17 News. Leathers said his department’s goal is to have 15,000 apprentices and 500 registered programs by 2020.
