House Special Investigative Committee to release initial report on governor’s investigation

The special investigative committee looking into allegations against Gov. Eric Greitens is expected to release its report Wednesday night, according to a release from the Missouri House communications team.

The release said the report will be available at 5 p.m., followed by a news conference with the House speaker, members of the House Republican Leadership and members of the committee at 6 p.m. The minority floor leader and members of the House Democratic Leadership will hold another conference once the speaker’s conference is finished.

The report will be available here.

The release of the committee’s initial findings comes after a judge in the governor’s criminal case issued a gag order for everyone involved in the case.

The judge said the gag order does not include the special investigative committee, but said he hopes the committee puts into consideration “any defendant, defendant’s rights to have a fair trial in front of an impartial jury.”

The release from House communications about the report came shortly after the judge issued the gag order.
