Rolla police arrest man after officers find 46 grams of marijuana in car

Rolla police arrested George Barsoum on Monday after officers initiated a traffic stop with a car that did not have a front license plate.

Police said when they made contact with Barsoum, the driver, there was an overwhelming smell of marijuana coming from the car.

Officers said they were previously made aware that Barsoum was possibly distributing marijuana.

Police searched Barsoum and the car and found 46 grams of marijuana and $1620 in cash.

According to the probable cause statement, the large amount of marijuana is typically only possessed by someone who is distributing.

Officers also noted that Barsoum was with a 16-year-old female at the time of the arrest.

Barsoum was charged with delivery of a controlled substance.
