Landlord charged with punching his tenant

A landlord has been charged with assault after he was accused of punching his tenant.

According to the probable cause statement, when officers arrived on scene they saw blood around a woman’s mouth and blood running down her chin.

The woman told Eldon police that her landlord, James Yeakle, knocked on her door and told her that he was coming inside the apartment to take pictures.

Yeakle was accused of saying that the woman needed to get out of the building. Court documents state that he began yelling at the victim and got in her face.

The woman told officers that she pushed him back to get him away from her, but that is when Yeakle began to hit her in the face.

Yeakle was accused of saying, “The old woman is lucky that I didn’t have my 9 on me or we wouldn’t be having this problem because she would be laying there with a hole in her head.”
