Second suspect in Columbia shooting arrested

Boone County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 19-year-old Malik Townsend Monday night, suspecting him of being involved in a March 26 shooting incident.

Townsend, Kevin Buckner and Damon Thompson were charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon after shots were fired on Shamrock Drive.

Thompson was taken into custody Thursday, four days before deputies arrested Townsend.

Townsend is being held on a combined bail amount of $150,000.
