Morgan County deputies arrest man accused of stealing batteries from boats

Morgan County deputies arrested Chad Shaw on Friday after officers were dispatched to the 29800 block of Meadow Drive Rocky Mount for reports of tampering.

The victim reported that several boats in his storage building had been tampered with and the batteries were stolen.

According to the probable cause statement, Shaw was a person of interest and was taken to the Morgan County Adult Detention Center.

Shaw admitted to stealing the batteries from several boats at Lampe Marine. He claimed that he sold the batteries to Rock Island Recycling in Eldon.

Shaw is charged with multiple counts of burglary and tampering with property of another.
