Macon police make multiple drug-related arrests over the weekened

Macon police announced on Monday that officers made several drug-related arrests during the weekend.

Police said on Friday morning, officers responded to the 100 block of East Bourke Street to assist with an investigation.

During the investigation, officers saw there was drug paraphernalia and weapons inside of the residence where several small children and two adults lived.

Officers executed a search warrant and seized more than 10 drug pipes used for methamphetamine along with small amounts of methamphetamine.

Police took both adults into custody but did not reveal their identities.

Officers said on Friday evening, they made a traffic stop in the 1200 block of North Missouri Street for an equipment violation. During the stop, police smelled marijuana and a passenger gave officers a bag with the drug inside.

Officers searched the car and found multiple packets of marijuana, scales used for weighing marijuana, a box of plastic baggies and other drug paraphernalia.

Police arrested both occupants of the vehicle on felony drug violations.

Chief of Police Adam Dawdy stated, “In addition to the four arrested on Friday, officers have made two additional arrests for possession of drug paraphernalia since the first of April.” He added, “The officers within our department are serious about seeking out illicit drugs and removing them from the streets for the betterment of our community. They are utilizing many different training techniques to help them perform their jobs well. Our officers also have an excellent working relationship with other area departments and agencies to provide the best service to our citizens.”
