UPDATE: Columbia police block off street for death investigation

UPDATE (3 am): Columbia police have confirmed they are investigating a death in the area of Woodrow Street.

This comes after ABC 17 News crews on scene saw investigators put a body into a body bag.

Original Story: ABC 17 News is working to confirm more details after Columbia police blocked off a street in the central part of the city.

Officers first responded to Woodrow Street, which is just off of Paris Road, around 12:30 a.m.

ABC 17 News crews on scene saw investigators put up a sheet, blocking view of something. Officers were going door to door in the area and talking to residents.

Neighbors told ABC 17 News police said there was an overdose in the area and they were looking for another person that may have been involved. However, that has not yet been confirmed with police.

As of 2:40 a.m. police were still on scene.
