Fayette school district cancels classes for Wednesday due to boil order

UPDATE 4/4: City officials announced on Wednesday that the water samples came back and the boil order was lifted by 11 a.m.

UPDATE: City officials said they had a 6″ water main break at Vine and Lucky.

Crews were able to get it fixed late Monday night and isolated the issue. It is currently only affecting areas between Vine and Herndon, and Howard Street from Lucky to Elm.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Fayette R-3 school district canceled classes for Wednesday because of a boil order.

The Fayette superintendent said the boil order was in effect “until further notice” but was not city wide.

ABC 17 is reaching out to city officials to learn more about the boil order.
