Warm up on Thursday, but more cold and snow Friday

THIS AFTERNOON: AFTER A COLD START TO THE MORNING, WE’RE SEEING A BIT OF A WARM UP, BUT STILL COLD FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR AS HIGH WILL ONLY REACH THE LOW 40s. IF YOU HAVE EVENING PLANS YOU WILL NEED THE JACKET AS WE WILL DIP BACK INTO THE UPPER 30S BY DINNER-TIME.

TONIGHT: UNDER PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES WINDS WILL BEGIN TO SHIFT OUT OF THE SOUTHEAST FROM 5-9 MPH, WHICH WILL BRING GOOD NEWS FOR TOMORROW. HOWEVER, TONIGHT OVERNIGHT LOWS WILL STILL DROP INTO THE LOW TO MID 30S, WITH WIND CHILLS IN THE LOW 20S.

EXTENDED: THURSDAY LOOKS TO BE THE “NICEST” DAY, AS HIGHS CLIMB INTO THE MID AND UPPER 50S UNDER PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. YOU’LL WANT TO ENJOY THURSDAY BECAUSE ANOTHER ROUND OF COLD AIR IS SET TO TRACK INTO MID-MISSOURI. FOLLOWING THE INCREASING CLOUDS INTO THURSDAY, AN UPPER LEVEL WAVE WILL TRACK INTO THE REGION AND COULD BRING A FEW SPOT SHOWERS THURSDAY EVENING, WITH AN INCREASING CHANCE FOR A WINTRY MIX BY FRIDAY. HIGHS FRIDAY AND INTO THE WEEKEND WILL STRUGGLE TO CLIMB OUT OF THE UPPER 30S AND MID 40S, MAKING IT KNOWN THAT WINTER ISN’T GOING ANYWHERE. ANOTHER CHANCE OF RAIN MOVES IN SUNDAY AS TEMPERATURES STAY COOL, ONLY REACHING THE LOW 50S. STAY TUNED TO ABC 17 FOR THE LATEST FORECAST AND UPDATES.
