Columbia police arrest wanted man, find drugs and gun

Columbia police arrested Scott Ostrander on Tuesday night after officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Range Line Street and Smiley Lane.

Police said when they made contact with Ostrander, they determined there was an active warrant out for his arrest.

Officers searched Ostrander’s vehicle and found nine Clonazepam pills and approximately one gram of amphetamines. Police also found a gun in the vehicle.

Ostrander faces possible charges of possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful for certain persons to possess concealable firearms, application for registration of motor vehicles, driving on right of highway and for his misdemeanor municipal warrant.
