Rain Saturday, Snow Sunday

TONIGHT: Like clockwork, clouds build back into the area ahead of our next cold front. Winds stay out of the south from 8-13 mph for most of the night with gusts as high as 20, as lows bottom out in the low 40s by morning. Through the early morning we could see a line of scattered, light rain showers to quickly move through the area

SATURDAY: Scattered light showers are possible in the morning and it will be windy as southwest winds gust to near 30 mph at times. Temperatures will climb to near 60 early in the afternoon before colder air arrives. Winds shift to the north and temperatures will fall through the evening, to the 30s by 11 PM as skies remain cloudy.

EXTENDED: It will feel more like winter Easter Sunday morning with temperatures starting off in the mid to upper 20s with cloudy skies. A narrow quick moving band of snow could arrive north of I-70 by early Sunday morning with a dusting possible mainly on elevated and grassy surfaces. Considering the cold temperatures, less traveled roads could become slick with any snow in the morning. Temperatures will only reach the mid to upper 30s Sunday afternoon as another band of snow moves in, turning to more rain/ snow mix south of HWY 50. Light accumulation on grassy surfaces is possible and on roads where pockets of moderate snow develop which at this time looks to be along the I-70 corridor. The next storm system approaches Monday and we’ll warm up ahead of it, reaching near 50 with a chance of showers. Rain becomes more likely Tuesday as another cold front moves through.
