Man charged with armed criminal action after fight results in shooting

A man has been charged with assault and armed criminal action after a fight broke out in Gasconade County.

A man told deputies that he saw Anthony Price beating up a woman with a child in her arms.

The man said he tried to step in to assist the woman but another person started swinging at him with a bat.

A struggle ensued for the bat and the man was struck several times.

At some point during the fight, Price pointed a gun at the man and shot him in the leg. Officers said the man was seriously injured as a result of the shooting.

Deputies executed a search warrant of Prices’ car and found a gun inside of the vehicle.

Price admitted to officers that he shot the victim but said he was only trying to break up a fight that was occurring with he arrived at the residence.

According to public court records, Price had bruising on his face near his eye.
