Jefferson City police arrest two after overnight pursuits

Jefferson City police arrested two after two separate pursuits late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

Police said the first chase began just after 11 p.m. on Tuesday night at Missouri Boulevard and Dix Road. Officers said they attempted to stop a car for a routine traffic violation but he failed to stop and the pursuit began.

Tyrone Amos, 39, eventually stopped in the 1100 block of East Elm. He faces possible charges of driving while suspended, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and careless and imprudent driving.

The second chase occurred just after 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Police said they attempted to stop a suspect acting suspicious, parked at the old St. Mary’s hospital. The suspect fled the scene and the pursuit began.

Police said the man crashed into a wall at Bolivar and Water Street and fled on foot. He was eventually arrested by officers.

Darin Barnes, 33, was wanted on a felony probation and parole violation warrant out of Boone County. He faces possible charges of resisting arrest and careless and imprudent driving.

Both suspects were taken to the Cole County Jail.

ABC 17 is reaching out to Cole County authorities to get a mugshot of Barnes.
