Man charged with hitting gas station, leaving the scene

A man has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident after he was accused of hitting a gas station and then leaving the area.

Officers said in February, they responded to the Fastlane on Amerihost Drive where witnesses said a van struck the side of the building and then left.

Police said the crash caused a moderate amount of structural damage. According to the probable cause statement, the front wall of the business was broken through and multiple machines in the store were damaged.

The damage estimate was $17,953.

Hours later, officers received a phone call from Daniel Brown stating that he was the one who crashed the car into the gas station and he wanted to turn himself in.
