Woman charged with biting Columbia Mall security guard

A woman has been charged assaulting a special victim after she was accused of biting a mall security guard.

According to the probable cause statement, Columbia police were dispatched to the Columbia Mall to help mall security with a woman that was accused of shoplifting.

Officers said when they arrived on scene, they saw that the security guard had a red bite mark on his right arm.

The security guard told officers that he made contact with Brandie Garay-Contreras because she was accused of shoplifting jeans. The security guard said she bit him after he had taken into custody.

Officers found the tags to the missing jeans and also found a digital scale with methamphetamine.
