Jefferson City police arrest man accused of threatening his parole officer
Jefferson City police arrested Richard Love on Monday after officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of West Main Street.
Officers said they initially arrested Love for an active arrest warrant.
According to the probable cause statement, Love became irate with his parole officer over his arrest. Love was accused of making statements indicating that once he posted bond for the warrant he was going to return to the parole officer’s job and “spit in his face.”
Officers said Love made several other statements indicating that he was going to cause problems at the parole office and said he hoped he would bond out before it closed.
When the parole officer was made aware of Love’s statements he became very alarmed and was worried that Love would return to the parole office and cause harm to him or the other employees.
Love was charged with tampering with a judicial officer. According to public jail records, Love is currently in the Cole County Jail.
