Shooter dies, students injured after Maryland high school shooting
A shooter has died and at least one female and one male student have been injured after a shooting at a Maryland high school on Tuesday morning.
The St. Mary’s County Public Schools said on its website that there was a shooting at Great Mills High School.
School officials reported that the ‘event was contained’ and the campus was on lockdown.
The principal for the school said officials had investigated threats of a possible shooting in February and found they were not substantiated. However, the school increased its security after social media posts about the shooting “circulated quite extensively.”
Parents and guardians were asked to stay away from the area and instructed to go to Leonardtown High School to reunite with students.
