Tracking a warmer and drier Memorial Day weekend
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a chance for a spot shower or storm. Lows in the mid-50s.
TOMORROW: Clouds decreasing with late day sunshine. Highs in the upper 60s to around 70.
EXTENDED: Scattered showers and storms continue to dot the radar this afternoon with cloud cover sticking around, making for another gray evening. Lows fall into the low to mid-50s with low pressure finally working its way to the east. I expect clouds and a few spotty showers across our eastern counties early in the day, with gradual clearing by afternoon. Highs on Friday make it to about 70. Over the weekend, high pressure forces the jet stream to our north over the weekend, pushing us back to near 80 Saturday. A weak wave of energy brings a chance of a spot shower early Saturday, but the day is looking mostly sunny. We continue to warm into the upper 80s to around 90 Sunday and Monday, with the heat index in the low 90s. We stay warm and generally dry through Wednesday with highs in the upper 80s until the jet stream starts to flatten out a bit mid-week, bringing the chance for showers and storms along a cold front Wednesday into Thursday. Temperatures will remain in the upper 70s to lower 80s to end the week with a more favorable setup for chances of rain and storms.
