Mizzou wrestling’s Eierman, Lewis to compete for third in NCAA Championships
The Mizzou wrestling team will not have a national champion this year after its last two hopes fell short in the NCAA semifinals.
Former Tolton wrestler Jaydin Eierman was down 3-1 but clawed his way back in the third period to tie the match at four. However, he lost in the extra period and will compete for third place tomorrow.
Daniel Lewis will join him to compete for third tomorrow after losing by decision in the 174-pound semifinals.
Willie Miklus will wrestle Saturday for 7th place and became a three-time All-American. Grant Leeth also became an All-American for the first time of his college career.
Joey Lavallee lost his match in session two and finishes his career with a record of 114-29 and was an All-American last year.
Mizzou ends day two of the NCAA championships still sixth in the team scores.
