Two arrested after assault results in serious injuries
Gasconade County deputies arrested two after officers responded to a report of an assault at an address located along River Road near Mt. Sterling.
Officers said when they responded to the area, one man had serious injuries and needed to be transported by air to an area hospital for treatment.
Hours later, deputies found a vehicle alleged to have been related to the incident. A traffic stop was performed and two men were taken into custody.
Officers said they are not releasing the names of the men until the incident is investigated further.
Deputies said while the investigation remains active, there is no known public safety risk.
