A woman with a long history of stealing has been accused of stealing a woman’s purse from a Days Inn in Osage Beach.

According to the probable cause statement, a woman noticed her purse was missing from her room. After searching the hotel and not finding it, she reviewed the surveillance footage and saw a woman and man enter in the victim’s room.

Police said they later reviewed surveillance footage that showed the couple walk into an empty lot behind a restaurant and look through the bag.

The victim said the purse had birth certificates, social security cards, a drivers license, conceal and carry permit, $450 in cash, a wedding ring, a kids travel bag, another purse, and a handgun.

The man seen on the surveillance footage, Nathaniel Quick, was taken into custody and admitted that Kayla Jones was the one who took the purse.

Quick said after the robbery, the couple tried to get a room at Quail’s Nest but were denied. He said they slept in the stairwell.

Days later, employees found an empty black gun holster that was later identified as the victim’s.

According to the probable cause statement, Jones is a threat to the community and society due to being a main suspect in approximately nine cases from Feb. 1 to Feb 13. Jones also has prior charges for stealing and forgery.

Jones was charged with stealing $750 or mor and stealing a firearm.
