Man arrested after troopers find more than 100 grams of marijuana, ecstasy
Troopers arrested Kevin Richardson on Saturday after officers observed a car speeding on U.S. 54.
Troopers said as the speeding car was passing officers, the driver had a surprised and worried look on her face.
When officers stopped the vehicle, they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the Ford.
Troopers said they believed the front passenger was lying about his identity. He was accused of being reluctant to give his name, taking long pauses before answering, breathing heavy and sweating. The man was eventually identified as Richardson.
Officers searched the car and found 104 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, a stolen gun and 1.1 ounces of ecstasy. Other misdemeanor paraphernalia was located throughout the car, troopers said.
Richardson was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, stealing and unlawful use of a weapon.
