Woman arrested after police find over 70 grams of methamphetamine in her purse

Columbia police arrested Trena Barnes on Sunday night after officers were dispatched to Cirilla’s on Buckner Street for reports of a larceny in progress.

Police said Barnes was accused of hiding merchandise in her purse. Officers searched Barnes’ purse and found 71.6 grams of methamphetamine, a glass pipe, a digital scale and money.

Barnes faces possible charges of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
