Mizzou to play in NCAA Tournament for first time since 2013

The Mizzou men’s basketball team has made the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013. The Tigers are a No. 8 seed. They’ll play No. 9 Florida State in the first round on Friday at approximately 8:50 p.m. in Nashville, Tennessee.

MU hasn’t won an NCAA Tournament game since 2010. The Tigers have never gone farther than the Elite 8. Mizzou has reached that feat three times, 1994, 2002 and 2009. This is MU’s 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Mizzou finished the regular season 20-12 overall and 10-8 in the SEC. The Tigers lost to Georgia in their opening SEC Tournament game this past Thursday in St. Louis, Mo.

It was a huge year for SEC basketball. A record eight teams made the NCAA Tournament. The ACC was the only conference with more qualifiers, nine.
