Former longtime county clerk Wendy Noren dies at 63

Wendy Noren, who served as Boone County Clerk for over 30 years before retiring in June, died Sunday after a years-long battle with cancer. She was 63.

Noren was first elected to office in 1982 and was reelected eight times.

Current Boone County clerk Taylor Burks posted a tweet Sunday in honor of Noren.

“Every day we work in that office, we are reminded of her passion and depth of knowledge,” Burks said. “She will be sorely missed, but never forgotten, especially among Missouri’s County Clerks.”
