Asbury man dies after crash with train in Jasper County
An Asbury man has died after a train crashed into the 1995 Toyota Camry he was driving in Jasper County.
According to the official report, the vehicle failed to yield to a Kansas Ciy Southern train on County Road 300. The vehicle was hit on the passenger side.
Morales-Pereida and another occupant in the vehicle, Francisca Neriz, 48, of Asbury, were taken to Freeman Hospital West.
Morales-Pereida was pronounced dead at the hospital. Neriz suffered serious injuries.
