Second meeting of special committee investigating governor closed, behind blacked-out doors

UPDATE 12:05 PM: Wednesday afternoon, a few representatives from the special investigative committee walked out of the Jefferson City Police Department.

Among those who walked out was Rep. Jay Barnes, who had no further comment regarding Wednesday’s meeting.

ORIGINAL: The seven representatives that make up the special committee investigating allegations against Gov. Eric Greitens met behind closed doors at the Jefferson City Police Department Wednesday morning.

The representatives went through a side door of the building before the meeting started at 8 a.m., according to ABC 17 News reporters.

After everyone involved in the meeting went inside the department, personnel covered the side door with black tarp and shut all the blinds that looked into the classroom where the meeting was held.

Committee Chair and Republican Rep. Jay Barnes told ABC 17 News on Tuesday that most of the committee meetings will be closed during the investigation.

As of Tuesday, the committee has less than 40 days to investigate the allegations that Greitens illegally took a nude or partially nude photo of the woman he had an affair with during his campaign.
