COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Workers at the Daniel Boone Regional Library have started voting on if they should join a union.

Around 160 employees will cast their vote today through Saturday.

Results are expected on Monday.

If ratified this would be the only active public library union in the state.

According to the Associated Press, union organizers cite pay, benefits and safety for pushing the union.

The library has locations in Columbia, Fulton, Ashland and Holts Summit.
