Cold, Breezy, with potential for snow into Tuesday evening
***Red Flag Warning from 9 AM Tuesday until 6 PM Tuesday for Benton, Camden, and Pulaski counties***
***Wind Advisory from 9 AM Tuesday until 6 PM Tuesday for Benton, Camden, and Pettis counties***
TONIGHT: With clear skies in place temperatures tonight will drop close to freezing. Winds will remain out of the southwest up to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. With overnight lows near freezing, this will yield wind chill values by tomorrow morning in the mid 20s.
TUESDAY: We’ll see sunny skies to start the day, however, clouds will begin to build back in as our low pressure system that brought us rain last night rotates south into our area. We’re continuing to monitor strong wind potential as we could see gusts up to 40 mph at times throughout the day. Temperatures will hover in the low 40s most of the day, but begin to drop into the afternoon. Afternoon showers are possible along and north of Hwy 50, as the upper level disturbance tracks through. We could see a few flurries mixed in, but the best potential will come into the evening. As temperatures quickly fall below freezing by sunset, we’ll see a changeover to snow showers, with little to no accumulation expected.
EXTENDED: Colder air settles in Tuesday night with lows in the upper 20s and wind chills dipping into the upper teens by Wednesday morning, reminding us that winter is still hanging on. It will be cool Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the low to mid 40s. We’ll warm back into the 50s Friday and into the weekend with our next chance of rain moving in Friday night.
