Lingering rain showers today, colder temps tomorrow
MONDAY: The bulk of thunderstorm activity continues to exit the area early this morning, but spotty showers are possible through the first half of the day as a cold front moves through. Winds will shift to the west-northwest, gusting to 25 mph. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 50s with skies becoming mostly sunny. Total rainfall amounts from Sunday night through Monday are expected to come in at a quarter to half inch west of HWY 63 and up to an inch east of HWY 63.
TONIGHT : With clear skies in place temperatures tonight will drop close to freezing. Breezy westerly winds will subside slightly tonight, but winds up to 12 mph will create for wind chills in the 20s by tomorrow morning.
EXTENDED : It will be a chilly, windy day Tuesday with highs in the mid to upper 40s and westerly winds at 15-20 mph gusting to 35 mph at times. Clouds will increase and Tuesday evening we have another chance for precipitation as last part of this storm system moves out of the area. Light rain showers are possible early Tuesday evening, turning to snow showers and ending through the overnight hours. No accumulation is expected. Colder air settles in Tuesday night with lows in the upper 20s and wind chills dipping into the upper teens by Wednesday morning, reminding us that winter is still hanging on. It will be cool Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the low to mid 40s. We’ll warm back into the 50s Friday and into the weekend with our next chance of rain moving in Friday night.
