Vote on Columbia audit scheduled for Monday
A vote is scheduled for Monday to move a budget audit forward.
ABC 17 previously reported that Columbia Mayor Brian Treece requested the audit in February. He said the audit could find potential cost-saving measures, which could help further fund public safety.
Since then, the Columbia Police Officers Association and Columbia Board of Realtors have also requested the state auditor to look into the city’s budget.
If the resolution is passed, the bill would direct the city manager to obtain estimated costs for conducting such an audit.
