7 Callaway County men charged after failing to register as sex offenders

The Callaway County Prosecutor charged seven men for failing to register as sex offenders.

The men charged are:

Matthew Leavell, 30, of Holts Summit:

Leavell is currently in the Boone County Jail for unrelated offenses and will be returned to Callaway County at a later time.

Darren Yancey, 30, of Kingdom City:

Deputies said Yancey was found by the Fulton Police Department, arrested and later posted bond.

Michael Carver, 41, of Holts Summit:

Officers said Carver is incarcerated in the Missouri Department of Corrections for unrelated offenses and will be returned to Callaway County at a later time.

Tommy Smith, 33, of Jefferson City:

Deputies said Smith was found by the Cole County Sheriff’s Department, arrested and posted bond.

Thomas Byrd, 55, of Williamsburg:

Officers said Byrd is incarcerated in the Missouri Department of Corrections for unrelated offenses and will be returned to Callaway County.

Michael Hook, 57, of Fulton:

Deputies said Hook was found by Court Marshals, arrested and posted bond pending a court appearance.

Iam Sims, 36, of Auxvasse:

Officers said Sims has not been found is believed to be in the Kansas City area. He is considered a fugitive from justice.
