Periods of rain through Saturday
TONIGHT: Light rain showers will end by 3 AM as temperatures rise into the upper 30s to near 40. Areas of dense fog are possible from HWY 24 north where there is a Dense Fog Advisory until 9 AM Friday.
FRIDAY: Skies will remain mostly cloudy with temperatures reaching the upper 40s with westerly winds up to 10 mph. Rain showers will increase after 6 PM, becoming likely overnight.
EXTENDED: Rain Friday night will move north as temperatures stay in the upper 30s in most of Mid-Missouri. However, there is a chance of freezing rain from midnight through 6 AM for areas north of HWY 24 in northern Missouri as temperatures will be close to freezing as the rain moves in. Rain moves out Saturday morning with another round of showers and possible t-storms Saturday afternoon, ending by 9 PM. Temperatures will reach the upper 50s Saturday but will fall to near 30 overnight as colder, drier air moves in. Rainfall amounts from Friday night through Saturday night will range from a half in in our northwestern counties to an inch and a half near I-44. Sunday looks dry and mild with highs in the low 50s. We’ll start warming again early next week with highs reaching the low 60s by Tuesday. Rain moves in Tuesday night into Wednesday along with cooler air which arrives for the start of March.
